Richard C. Haase, 83, of Booneville, Miss., formerly of Mercer, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, Miss.
The husband of Ora Lee Crane Lambert Haase, who survives, he was a farmer and worked in power construction with TVA. Mr. Haase was born August 6, 1923 in Whiteville, son of the late William Fred Haase and Arlene Fergie Haase and lived here until 2005 when he made his home in Booneville. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European theater, earning the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. Mr. Haase was a member of Jacinto Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, whom he married October 31, 2005, survivors include five sisters, Augustine Pittman, Otillian Robbins and Mildred Bryant, all of Whiteville, Gladys Cook of Somerville and Bernice Lester of West Allis, Wisc.; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Nina and Tommy Taylor of Booneville, Nona and Billy Woods of Michie; one stepson and his wife, Johnny and Karen Lambert of Toone; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and one step-great, great granddaughter.
In addition to his first wife, Dessie M. Crosswhite Haase, who died May 30, 2005 after 49 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
