REV. TROY EUGENE FRYE

 Henderson, TN: Rev. Troy Eugene Frye, age 95, passed away Monday night, September 2, 2024, at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth, Mississippi after a brief illness. 

He was born August 17, 1929, in the Silerton area of Chester County, the son of the late Rev. Canie Hubert and Mary Rosetta Fry.

He married the love of his life, Mary Lee Farris in Corinth, Mississippi on Valentine’s Day in 1948. They were blessed to be together for seventy-two years before she passed away in 2020.

He was a devoted member of Faith Fellowship Church and a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge #485. Starting his Ministry in 1966, he served as pastor to several area churches. 

In 2004, he was recognized for his many years of ministerial service by the Southern Baptist Convention and awarded two honorary doctorate degrees including a Doctor of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry.

His first job was with Kenneth Woods at the Henderson Sale Barn. He later co-owned Frye’s Carquest Auto Parts and worked at Simmons Lumber Company before retiring.

Troy is survived by his daughter, Janice Carroll (Lynn) of Selmer, two sons, Ken Frye (Annette) and Keith Frye (Rhonda) of Henderson. Grandchildren, Darren Smith and Blake Carroll of Selmer, Emily Henderson (Jake) of Poncha Springs, Colorado, Adam Frye (Megan), Lauren Muckelvaney (Josh), Jana Menzie (Mark) all of Henderson, and Seth Frye of Franklin, TN, eleven great grandchildren, one great-great and two on the way. Sisters, Mary Dugas (Warren) and Ruth Cates. Brother-in-law, Larry Farris ( Martha) and Sister-in-law, Virginia Rowland (Larry).

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Jo in 1940 and Mildred Williams in 2007 and a brother, Nelson Wayne in 1983.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 5th at Cave Springs Cemetery, with Ken Frye and Blake Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends at Cave Springs Cemetery 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM service time on Thursday.
