REV. NEAL HINSON
Henderson, TN: Reverend Alfred Neal Hinson, age 74, died June 22, 2009 at Select Speciality Hospital in Nashville.
He was born and reared in the Glendale Community of Chester County the son of the late Roy and Palice Moore Hinson. He attended school in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High School in 1954. He was married to Shirley Pickett of the Sweetlips Community on July 10, 1954 and they made their home in the Glendale Community.
He was a Methodist Pastor serving the New Bethel and Shady Grove Methodist Churches in Lexington for the past 13 years. He had been in the Ministry for 42 years, serving at many other previous charges. He also was a brick layer and farmer. He loved to garden and share his produce with family and friends. He also served as President/Caretaker of the Glendale Community Center and was an elected Chester County Commissioner for the Glendale Community in previous years. He was a very accomplished boxer and was the Mid-South Golden Gloves Champion in both 1954 and 1955.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Pickett Hinson; three children, Annette Martin of Jackson, Connie (Gary) Barnes and Michael (Debbie) Hinson all of Henderson; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Ray Hinson of Hernando, MS and a sister, Faye Connor of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Burl Hinson, Guy Hinson and Bobby Hinson.
