Rena Audrella Mathis

Rena Audrella Mathis, 90, of Bolivar, died Wednesday evening, June 6, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.



The widow of Dewitt Mathis, who died February 19, 1991 after 57 years of marriage, she was a psychiatric technician at Western Mental Health Institute until 1982. Mrs. Mathis was born January 12, 1917 in Belmont, Miss., daughter of the late Clarence and Dovie Samples Fuller. She lived for a time in the Gravel Hill Community and was a member of Parran’s Chapel Baptist Church.



Survivors include two daughters, Reba Keller and her husband, Larry of Bolivar and Doris Caballero of Bartlett; two sons, Owen Mathis and his wife, Rubye of Selmer and Billy W. Mathis of Somerville; one brother, Buel Fuller of Guys; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild; two great grandchildren; a brother, Hoyt Forsythe and a sister, Rae Phelps.
