Rena Pitts Brooks was born September 30, 1933 in Enville, Tennessee the daughter of the late Herschel and Roxie Ellis Pitts.
She was united in marriage to Parker Brooks on December 30, 1955. Mr. Brooks preceded her in death on February 17, 2008 after 52 years of marriage.
Mrs. Brooks was a graduate of Adamsville High School. She was a lifelong Christian, being baptized in the Milledgeville Methodist Church, and attending the Rugby Hills Baptist Church while living in Memphis. Mrs. Brooks was a generous supporter of many Christian organizations. She loved reading her Bible daily and sharing her testimony with others.
Mrs. Brooks departed this life on December 24, 2010 in Byhalia, Mississippi at the age of 77 Years, 2 Months, 24 Days. She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Ferrell and husband Ray of Memphis, TN, Tammy McCallum and husband John of Saltillo, MS, and Allison Turner and husband David of Byhalia, MS; a son, Brady Brooks of Bartlett, TN; former daughter-in-law Sherri Brooks of Oakland, TN; eight grandchildren: Brooke Ferrell, Bret Ferrell and wife Lindsey, Christopher Cooper, Ashley (Cooper) Smith, Brandon Turner and wife Bonnie, Brittany Brooks, Dalton Turner, and Brady Brooks; two great-grandchildren, Reagan Smith and Colt Parker Turner; a sister, Gerri Seaton and husband Bill of Adamsville, TN; three brothers: Bobby Pitts and wife Anna Lou and Steve Pitts and wife Barbara, all of Adamsville, TN, and Bill Pitts and wife Gisela of Littleton, CO; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jeremy Cooper, and five sisters: Louise Pitts, Mable Mabry, Lucille Hanna, Kate Phillips, and Betty Jean Pitts.
