Recie Crabtree Brown Tull

Recie Crabtree Brown Tull was born July 5, 1925 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Calvin Luco and Mattie Dickey Crabtree. She was united in marriage to Everett Vernon Brown, Jr. on September 22,1945. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on April 1, 1984. She was later united in marriage to Glenn Wright Tull, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2002.

Mrs. Tull was formerly employed as a clerical worker for the United States Army Depot in Memphis during World War II, but her primary role was that of a loving homemaker for her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Selmer, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, and was a former member of the Selmer Home Demonstration Club. She loved tending her flowers and gardening.

Mrs. Tull departed this life on September 27, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Brown Prather of Selmer, TN and Sandra Huckabee Fitzsimmons and husband Richard of Germantown, TN; a son, Keith Brown and wife Janice of Henderson, TN; eight grandchildren: Mike Prather and wife Judy, Vicki Prather Sibley and husband James, Leigh Ann Gray and husband Robert, David Huckabee and wife Beth, Molly Scott and husband Greg, Rebecca Lewis and husband Jeremy, Desiree' Brown Baucum and husband Jonathan, and Denee' Brown and fiance James Shepherd; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; three step-sons: Ron Tull and wife Nang of Thailand, Andy Tull and wife Karen and Keith Tull, all of Athens, GA; three sisters-in-law: Louise Crabtree Clayton of Corinth, MS, Dot Huckabee and husband Vernon, and Iris Boatman, all of Selmer, TN; five brothers-in-law: Clyde Tull and wife Jeanne of Bethel Springs, TN, Rex Brown of Oak Grove, MO, Jim Brown and wife Dorthene of Selmer, TN, Don Brown and wife Gaynell and James Brown and wife Gloria, all of Michie, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Tull was preceded in death by a son, Tony Brown; a sister, Vivian Thacker; five brothers: Carthel Crabtree, Hilmer Crabtree, Conan Crabtree, C. L. Crabtree, and Mansel Crabtree; and a brother-in-law, Arnold Brown.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Tull may be made to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, or the Hernando, MS Animal Shelter.
