Rebekah Pearl Reatherford

Services for Rebekah Pearl Reatherford, age 79, of Waynesboro, TN will be Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro with Steven Turnbow officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN, with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, September 10, 2007 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.



Mrs. Reatherford died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN after a short illness. A native of Cypress Inn, TN, she was a daughter of the late John William and Clara Martin Hanback, the mother of the late Gary Reatherford, and a sister of the late Jewel Stults and Ruby Moyer.



Mrs. Reatherford was retired from General Motors, had worked as a newspaper proofreader, and had some of her writings published. She was a member of Forty-Eight Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the United Auto Workers.



Survivors, daughters, Shirley Raye Wilson, Elizabeth, WV, Charlotte Kay Pierson, Ypsilanti, MI; sister, Opal Reatherford, Waynesboro, TN; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
