Raymond Shaun Word

Raymond Shaun Word departed this life on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the age of 41 years, 3 months, and 29 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on December 10, 1980, the son of the late Raymond and Joan Word. On April 23, 2021, he was united in marriage to Daisy E. Word, who survives.

Raymond lived in Hardin County for most of his life and had worked for Roach Sawmill for 12 years. He was an artist, liked fishing, swords, hatchets, enjoyed guitar music, and spending time with his children.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Daisy E. Word of Selmer, Tennessee; his children, Dillon Word and Joanna Word, both of Savannah, Tennessee; stepchildren, Ashley Morrison, Brittney Collins, Curtis Strickland, and Wesley Strickland, all of Selmer, Tennessee; sister, Frankie Jo Kelley of Florence, Alabama; step brother, Ronald Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; and his grandmother, Mollie Word of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his stepfather, Larry Highland, and special parents, Jack and Deb Word.

Visitation will be at Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church beginning Wednesday, April 20 at 5 p.m. and going throughout the night until service time Thursday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
