Today we say goodbye to my husband, to our dad, to a very good friend. He worked had to provide us with food and shelter. He also worked to teach us respect and honor, how to work for what we have. How to appreciate one another, how to save and not waste. How to get angry but yet forgive. His mother died when he was nine months old. He was raised by his dad, grandmother and granddad in Butler, PA. He went to school and graduated from Butler school. He tried his hand at many different jobs, grocery store, factory, and railroad. But he found his calling in the construction business, building houses, in and around Jackson. He worked with contractors like Monty Matlock, Vernon Hickman, Arthur Bain, Roger & Richard Holder. He took pride in what he did to do it right. We are only saying- See you later dad, you will always be in our hearts and minds.
He was born in Mars, PA the son of the late Manuel and Elizabeth Nethercont Weaver. He graduated from Butler High School in 1953. He helped on the farm and several other jobs before moving to Chicago. He was married to Clara Maness in 1961. They made their home in Jackson since 1965. Ray worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for many years.
He is survived by his wife Clara Maness Weaver of Jackson; two daughters, Beth Austin and husband Chuck of Finger and Tera Anderson and husband Stewart of Henderson and three sons, Kenny Weaver and wife Trena, David Weaver and wife Tisha and Brian Weaver and wife Amber all of Jackson and twelve grandchildren and a very dear friend, close as a brother Harold Daughorty and wife Doris of Butler, PA.
