He was born and reared in the Woodville Community of Chester County, the son of the late Jim and Jewell Rowland King. He farmed as a young man and worked for Chester County Highway Dept. and later worked at various sawmills in the area.
He is survived by four brothers: Gorman King, Kirby King and Paschal King all of the Woodville Community and Larry King of Cookeville.
He was preceded in death by a sister Oneida King Russom in 1983.
