Raymond Johns, 55, of Toone, passed from this life Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born Sunday, October 23, 1966, in Bolivar to the late Jeffie Leon Johns and Annie Vera Kiestler Johns and lived all his life in Hardeman County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Roy Edward Kiestler.
Mr. Johns was a maintenance mechanic for C & M Sawmill for 13 years and had also worked for John V. Anderson farming. A simple man who loved to work, he had been especially close to his mother while she was living. Raymond loved being the outdoors including fishing, hunting or grilling, which allowed him to showcase his love for cooking. He enjoyed time spent with family, classic rock, country music and trucks.
He is survived by a brother, Joe Lee Johns (Margaret) of Toone; nephew, Jeff Johns of Luray, TN; nieces, Sara Martin (Cameron) of Humboldt, Stephanie Norris (Brandon) of Beech Bluff, Courtney Barham (Brandon) of Henderson and Samantha Norris of Belleville, IL; cousins, Eddie Kiestler (Amanda) of Medon, Doris Keller (Joe) of Bolivar, J. R. "Slick" Johns (Teresa) of Middleton and Linda Watson of Chester County; aunts, Jean Kiestler of Medon and Betty Jean Elder of Bolivar; and a special great-niece, Nora Martin of Humboldt.
