Raymond Hardin

REV. RAYMOND HARDIN

Finger, TN: Raymond William Hardin, age 89, passed away March 3, 2023, peacefully at his home with friends and loved ones at his side.

He was born December 8, 1933, in Hornsby, TN, son of the late Odell and Pearl McIntyre Hardin. He grew up and attended school in Hornsby.

He married Jean Newsom on May 29, 1954, and they made their home in Finger. They had enjoyed sixty-eight years together.

He worked for General Electric in Selmer for thirty-two years, retiring in 1999.

He was also a Baptist Minister for over forty years, serving churches at Cabo, Mason Wells, Cave Springs, Faith Baptist and lastly First Baptist in Finger.

He enjoyed listening to the St. Louis Cardinals, watching NASCAR and the UT VOLS Football games.    

He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Finger.

Rev. Hardin is survived by his wife, Jean Newsom Hardin of Finger; a son, Marty Hardin and daughter-in-law, Caroline of Sanford, FL; two grandchildren, Victoria Kelly Hardin and Cassidy Raegen Hardin and a sister, Annie Grace Hubanks of Bethel Springs, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.W. Hardin.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, March 5^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Mike Cothren, Marty Hardin and Victoria Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Hill Memory Gardens at Bethel Springs, TN.

The family will receive friends at East Main 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM service time.
