Raymond Elmer Birmingham

September 11, 1943 — February 2, 2009

Raymond Elmer Birmingham was born September 11, 1943 in Luxora, Arkansas, the son of the late Herbert and Beatrice Irene Morgan Birmingham. He was united in marriage to Wanda June Henson on January 8, 1965.



Mr. Birmingham was retired from the military having served with the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Collinwood, Tennessee and the American Legion.



Mr. Birmingham departed this life on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 65 Years, 4 Months, 22 Days.



He is survived by his wife, Wanda June Henson Birmingham of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Shelley Daniel of Iron City, TN; 2 Grandchildren, Cory Daniel and Hannah Sandusky; three brothers, Ray Birmingham, Jim Birmingham, and Gary Birmingham all of Lansing, Mi; two sisters, Faye Dexter of Lansing, MI and Earline Price of Wayne, WV; nieces and nephews.



Services will be held on Thursday,February 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, with John Hodum officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 6 pm to 10 pm and Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 8 am to service time at Cornerston Church in Collinwood, TN.
