Enville, TN: Raymon Leon Holley age 91 passed away February 21, 2016 at the TN State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN.
He was born March 26, 1924 in Chester County, the son of the late Eugene and Ellen Carroll Holley. He attended Chester County Schools. He served in the U.S. Army serving in the European Theatre of Operations and the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Holley farmed all of his adult life. He worked for the TN Division of Forestry at Pinson Nursery until he retired in 1993. He was formerly married to Clara Mae Cherry. Mr. Holley made his home in the Cabo community of Chester County where he farmed.
Mr. Holley is survived by one son, Rev. Larry Holley and wife Susie of Enville and a daughter-in-law, Sherye Holley Page, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a sister, Allene Johnson of Reagan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Donnie Holley in 2013, a brother, Earl Holley and a sister, Ruth Richardson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday February 24, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Larry Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
