Rayford Clinton Livengood was born on September 18, 1927 in Iron City, Tennessee, the son of the late Clinton Oswald and Lillie Welch Defoe Livengood.
He was united in marriage to Roxie Lee Reynolds Livengood, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2018.
Rayford honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked in New York during 911. Rayford worked as a Operator for Alcoa Aluminum Company for 32 years. He was a member of Broadway Baptist and Prospect Baptist in Maryville, Tennessee, where he lived for 40 years, and Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, where he lived for the last 34 years. Rayford was a very talented builder of churches in Brazil doing missionary work. Rayford loved reading westerns, vegetable gardening, people coming to visit, and home remodeling.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Jayne Combs of Savannah, Tennessee and Carol Livengood Francisco of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Samuel Houston Bible, Maggie Elizabeth Lomax, Christy Lynn Rollins, Katie Harper, Rebecca Leach, Benjamin Isaac Francisco, Micah David Francisco, Jesse Daniel Francisco, Jennica Francisco Gomez, Julianna Francisco Eckles, Susannah Grace Livengood, Emily Branch, Christian Kerry Livengood, and Benjamin Patrick Livengood; 21 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Pam Livengood.
In addition to his parents and wife, Rayford was preceded in death by his son, Kerry Livengood; sister, Lula Belle Saxton; and brothers, Charles Thomas Livengood and Van Troy Livengood.
