He was born in Enville, TN the son of the late David Washington and Mary Elizabeth Henderson Massengill. He attended Chester County Schools. He had made his home in Taylor, MI: Paul Ray Massengill, age 78, died December 22, 2008. Detroit area all of his adult life. He first worked for Kiser Frazier Auto Manufacturing and then enlisted in the Air Force and served in Germany and North Africa during the Korean War, after the service he returned to the Detroit area and worked for Great Lakes Steel where he retired after 32 years. He was a member and Officer of the Moose Lodge in Taylor, MI. He is survived by a son, Terry Massengill and wife Ann of White Lake, MI; two daughters, Theresa Petree and husband Ted of Rockwood, MI and Tamara Patterson and husband James of Northville, MI. Four brothers, Max Massengill of Enville, William Massengill of Ripley, Troy Massengill of Adamsville and John Massengill of Enville; four sisters, Maerene Barker of Savannah, Mary Etta Duke of Morris Chapel, Nannie Nixon of Enville, Joy Grissom of Lexington and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Massengill and two sisters, Mildred Smith and Naomi Grimes.
