Mr. Ray King, age 58, of Toone, departed this life Monday morning, July 25, 2016 at his son's home in Millington.
He was born November 13, 1957, in Jackson, son of the late Virginia Lareece Cox King and Edward King of Bolivar. He worked as a mechanic, a logger, a heavy equipment operator, a farm hand and was known to be a 'jack of all trades'. He loved fixing things that were broken, tinkering around on old engines. He lived quite a bit of his life in Memphis and later moved to this area. He was a Baptist in faith.
Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Amy King of Memphis; a daughter, Melissa King of Memphis; two sons, Clinton King of Millington and Joe King of Mercer; his father, Edward King of Bolivar; three sisters, Linda Bishop of Bolivar, Lanette King of Middleton and Penny Blaylock of Atoka; two brothers, Leon King of Toone and Timmy Lee King of Bolivar; and four grandchildren, Logan and Peyton Lovette, Colton King and Caleb Ulrich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia King in 2010. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
