Ralph Allen Moore, resident of Adamsville, TN, died at the age of eighty one years old on Friday, April 24, 2020. He died from aspiration pneumonia related to Parkinson’s disease at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN.
Ralph Allen Moore was born on January 14, 1939 in Dickson, TN. He was born to parents William Moore and Anna Newman Moore of Dickson, TN. He joined a family of six older brothers and four older sisters. He graduated from Mt. Carmel high school in 1957. He joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served his country until 1965.
Ralph fell in love and married Linda Louise Lampton of Chicago, IL On September 29, 1962 at the Mt. Greenwood Church of the Nazarene. Ralph & Linda lived most of their married life in the Chicago area. Ralph worked as a computer data entry operator working the overnight shift. Ralph & Linda had four children Steven, Timothy, William, and Susan. Later in life Ralph enjoyed visiting, teaching, and spoiling his five grandchildren Nathaniel, Christopher, Benjamin, Madeleine, and Lydia. He enjoyed serving in his church, singing, playing guitar, telling jokes, writing, gardening, and traveling. Ralph led music, sang solos and in the church choir, taught Sunday School, coached Bible quizzing, and went on multiple work and witness trips.
He visited Chile, Peru, Russia, Brazil, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Mexico as part of Nazarene work and witness teams.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father William Moore, his mother Anna Newman Moore, brothers Charles, Delbert, John, Wesley, Melvin, and William Moore as well as his sisters Ruth DeWitt and Naomi Faulkner. Ralph also laid his young son William to rest in 1969 and his loving wife Linda in 2015.
He is survived by his sisters Mae Schmittou, Miriam Rivett, his sons Steven (Cheryl) Moore, Timothy (Tchule) Moore, and his daughter Susan Nelson. He leaves behind five grandchildren Nathaniel Nelson, Christopher Moore, Benjamin Nelson, Madeleine Moore, and Lydia Nelson.
Ralph was well loved by his family, church, and community. He will be remembered as a kind- hearted, fun- loving, and honest man of God.
