Mr. Lax passed away Saturday night at Methodist Fayette Healthcare.
The husband of Beverly H. Lax, who survives, he was an industrial insulator for 40 years, a member of the Union Local #90 (National Asbestos Workers) and enjoyed restoring old cars. He was born September 21, 1934 in Middleburg to the late James Earnest Lax and Mary Owens Lax and a member of Whiteville First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married June 5, 1955, survivors are 2 daughters, Katrina Harris of Bolivar and Felicia (Richard) Phillips of Jackson; son, Ralph Lax, Jr. of Cordova; sister, Janet Sealand of Middleburg; brother, James Franklin Lax of Middleburg; 4 grandchildren, Cody Harris of Whiteville, Erin Angel of Arlington, Lindsey Lax of Lakeland, Sheila Williams of Toone; 2 great grandchildren, Seth and Ian Williams; and 2 dear friends, Bobby Thornley and Bob Bryant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine; brother, Joseph Lax; and sister, Wallie Sisco.
