Rachel Hughes Smith, 83, of Toone, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of Dennie Ray Smith, who died December 22, 1992 after 45 years of marriage, she was a bookkeeper with the county executive office and a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was born July 19, 1923 in Friendship, daughter of the late Alvin and Naomi Sanders Hughes and lived here all of her life. She was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Lynne Smith of Horn Lake, Miss.; one son, Randy H. Smith of Nashville; two grandchildren, Andrew and Kara Smith of Nashville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, J. B. Hughes.
