Rachel Joyner of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, was born on May 14, 1935, to the late LeRoy Smith and Lora Luttrell Smith. She was a homemaker.Mrs. Joyner was a member of the Pentecostals of Bethel Springs. She participated in the "Busy Bees Quilting Club" at the church. Mrs. Joyner died on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital at the age of 72 Years, 10 Months, and 5 Days.Survivors are her husband of nearly 58 Years, Charles Joyner; two daughters, Sandra Long of Selmer and Robbie Owens of Huron, Tennessee; two sons, Bobby Joyner of Savannah, Tennessee, and Tony Joyner of Selmer; three sisters, Velma Gettle and Bessie Williams, both of Bethel Springs, and Irene Henry of Henderson, Tennessee; two brothers, Kenneth Smith of Bethel Springs and James Arthur Smith of Ramer, Tennessee.6 Grandchildren and 12 Great-GrandchildrenA host of other relatives and friends.Other than her parents, Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by three brothers, Elbert Smith, R. L. Smith, and Tommy Smith.
