Rachel (Granny) Jones

Rachel (Granny) Jones departed this life on November 8, 2014 in her home in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 9 Months, 30 Days. She was born on January 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Samuel Kirk and Virgie Milford Brown.

She was united in marriage to Paul T. Jones on May 10, 1955. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2014.

Mrs. Jones was retired since 1990 from Angelica Uniform Group after 37 years of service as a Supervisor. She was also a member of the Church of Christ. She loved to cook and work in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Rachel is survived by her children, Fred Jones of Savannah, Tennessee, Teresa Jones of Adamsville, Tennessee, Rhoda Talley of Prattville, Alabama, Lloyd Jones of Savannah, Tennessee, and Kim Shelby and her husband, Phillip, of Savannah, Tennessee; one sister, Reaber Smith of Adamsville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one child, Faye Brown Couch; and three brothers, Waldo Brown, Calvin Brown, and Junior Brown.
