Rachel Kay Jenkins

Rachel Kay Jenkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on July 26, 1959, she brought joy to all who knew her through her warm spirit and creative talents. Rachel cherished her family above all else, and her legacy will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones.

Rachel was a devoted mother to her sons, Tommy Jenkins and Jeremy Jenkins, and her daughter, Amanda Jenkins. Each of them holds precious memories of laughter and support that their mother provided unconditionally. Her love extended to her grandchildren—Jacob Jenkins, Zander Jenkins, Sophie Jenkins, George Binkley, and Ayla Binkley—who were a source of endless pride and joy in her life. Rachel often spent her time crafting quilts, pouring her love into each stitch, gifts that her family now treasures as keepsakes of her affection.

She shared a deep bond with her siblings, retaining lifelong connections with her brothers, George Rainey and Donald Rainey, and her sisters, Lenora Denton, Tammy Franks, and Diana Hopkins. Together, they created a network of love and support that radiated throughout their lives.

Rachel was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Jenkins, and her parents, Leonard Rainey and Mary Marie Rainey. She also mourned the loss of her brother, Leonard Rainey.

Throughout her life, Rachel found solace and inspiration in music, a passion that infused her soul, and her artistic spirit shone brightly through her quilting. These hobbies reflected her nurturing nature and her desire to create beauty in the world around her.

Visitation services for Rachel will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. A funeral service will follow on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood.
