Rachel Eugenia Bryant

Mrs. Bryant died August 22 at her home. She was born in Hardeman County, daughter of the late John Thomas Sykes and Tula Ola Duncan Sykes and lived all of her life here. The widow of Ruble Thomas Bryant, who died on December 21, 1995, she was a homemaker and loved cooking and sewing and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Copeland of Acton and Karen Hasenbank of Freesoil, Mich; six sons, Tommy Bryant of Middleton, Milton Bryant of Bolivar, Barry Bryant of Hornsby, Joey And Dennie Bryant both of Grand Junction and Teddy Bryant of Holly Springs, Miss.; four sisters, Mary Howell, Margie Maxwell and Annie Ruth Baker, all of Middleton and Sue Russell of Bolivar; five brothers, Tommy Sykes of Memphis, Joe V. Sykes of York, Pa., Bob Sykes of Athens, Tenn., Howard Sykes of Noonan, Ga., and Gerald Sykes of Bolivar; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Ed Sykes.
