R. E. Strickland

R.E. STRICKLANDwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 11, 1924 the son of the late William and Bess Poole Strickland.On April 15, 1950 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Gant, who survives.Mr. Strickland was a hog farmer. He lived in the Cerro Gordo area from 1950 to 1994 and then in Savannah. Mr. Strickland was a member of Russell's Chapel Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing dominos and enjoyed hog farming and gardening.Mr. Strickland departed this life on June 3, 2010 at the Baptist Hospital in Booneville, Mississippi at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 23 days.Other than his wife, Dorothy of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one sister, Sue Majors of Savannah, TennesseeIn addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ruth Penner and Era Sanders.
