R. B. MOORE
Decaturville, TN: R. B. Moore, age 81, died January 27, 2009 at Regional Hospital of Jackson.
He was born and reared in the Laurel Hill Community in Chester County, the son of the late Jess W. and Betty Kirkpatrick Moore. He attended school in McNairy County and entered the U.S. Army in 1944 and served in the 6th Ranger Division in the European Theatre of Operations during WWII, returning in 1947. After the service he worked up north as a plumber, pipe fitter and welder. He later worked in maintenance at Lambuth College and also worked at Mud Island in Memphis and retired in 1986. He was married to Madegline Nance in 1950, she died in 1990. He was later married to Anna Kindle Fisher in 1990 and they made their home in Decaturville since that time. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife; Anna Fisher Moore of Decaturville, five sons, Robert Moore (Carol) , David Moore (Pat) , Dwight Moore all of Jackson; Bobby Moore (Dianna) of Holyton, IL and Danny Moore (Patty) of Savannah; two daughters, Lynn Sanders and Sheila Widger (Joey) both of Jackson; a step daughter, Judy Thornton (Larry) of Decaturville and a step son, Michael Fisher (Tonya) of Parsons; a brother, Vernice Moore of Memphis; three sisters, Cordie Austin of Henderson, Imogene Callins of Savannah and Pauline Maness of Henderson; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; nine step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vester Moore and Elster Moore; a sister, Lucreasia Thomas and a granddaughter, Stephanie Arwood.
