Prudence Phillips

Mrs. Phillips died Saturday morning at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar.



A native of Rogers Springs, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of W. T. and Augusta Burgess Munn and the widow of Jasper R. Phillips, whom she married October 6, 1940. Mr. Phillips died October 31, 1986. She was a member of the Middleton church of Christ and had been employed by the United States Postal Service as postmaster in Middleton, where she retired in 1984. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1937 and she attended Freed-Hardeman University.



Among her survivors, she leaves a daughter, Brenda Moore of Southaven, MS and a son, Jim Phillips of Panama City Beach, FL; a sister, Barbara Silva of Broken Bow, OK; four grandchildren, Stacey Backus, Mark Moore, Kristi Rogers and Laura Cane; six great-grandchildren.
