POLLY VAUGHN LEMONS
Finger, TN: Polly Vaughn Lemons age 92 passed away August 30, 2016 at McNairy County Healthcare in Selmer, TN.
She was born June 6, 1924 in Kenton, TN, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lola Bell Haddock Vaughn. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1942 and moved to Memphis where she worked at the Army Depot and later Memphis Light Gas and Water. She was married to Albert “Pete” Lemons on October 6, 1951. They lived in Carpentersville, IL until 1966 when they moved to Finger, TN. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends in Finger, crocheting, playing ROOK, and BUMPS (a Lemons Family Game).
Mrs. Lemons is survived by a daughter, LaVon Lemons Jones and husband Doug of Henderson and a son, Steve Lemons and wife Leah of Henderson and four grandchildren, Jason Allen Jordan, Ashley LaVon Isbell, Brandy Paige Lemons and Luke Albert Lemons; one niece, Pat Orr and one nephew, Buster Orr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert ‘Pete’ Lemons in 2005 and a niece, Rita Orr.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM September 2, 2016 at Casey Chapel with Shackelford Johnson Chapel in charge, with Bro. Bobby Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Finger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5-9 PM Thursday.
