Polly Stricklin Franks
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 29, 1927 the daughter of the late Ledford and Flora Franks Stricklin.
On December 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Granville Franks, who survives.
Mrs. Franks was the pastor of Forest Ridge Union Church, where she was also a member. She also wrote the “Country Echoes†column for the Savannah Courier.
She departed this life on December 30, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 1 day.
Mrs. Franks is survived by her husband, Granville Franks of Savannah, Tennessee;
4 daughters: Peggy Stacks, Jeannie Cox, Penny Williams and Robin Rippie;
3 sons: Gary W. Franks, Maynard Franks and David M. Franks, all of Savannah;
19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren;
4 brothers: Billy Stricklin of Savannah, O.C. Stricklin of Savannah,
George Stricklin of Cypress Inn, Tennessee and Bobby Joe Stricklin of Florence, Alabama;
and 2 sisters: Lorene Franks and Inez Stricklin, both of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Shelby Elizabeth Franks; one daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Franks; one son-in-law, Tim Stacks; one brother, John Henry Stricklin and 4 sisters: Betty Jean Stricklin, Pearl Hughes, Margaret Stricklin and Gladys Robbins.
