PEGGY SANDERS WILLIAMS
Pinson, TN: Oletta Bell ‘Peggy’ Sanders Williams age 93 passed away Saturday morning March 19, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born February 1, 1923 in Weakley County, the daughter of the late Roger M. and Nona Mae Ketchum Sanders. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1945 married Ben Williams. They made their home in Pinson most of their married life, where Mr. Williams was a heavy equipment operator and farmer. Mr. Williams passed away in 1994.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Big Springs United Methodist Church where she had been active in the WMU and had sung in the choir. She was very faithful to regular attendance at Bible study, Sunday school, and worship services. She was well known for making beautiful quilts and had been quilting since she was eleven years old. She was a member of the Stitchers Quilting Club that met at First Baptist Church of Henderson.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lambert and husband Joe of Pinson and Susan Maness and husband Elmer of Henderson; daughter-in-law Debbie Williams of Pinson, a brother, Roger Sanders, Jr. of Auburn, GA, three grandchildren; Heath Williams of Pinson, Hillary Dalton and husband Tim of Jackson and Joe Lambert, Jr. of Jackson and two great grandchildren Kaitlynn Lambert and Addelyn Kate Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben Williams, and a son, Roger Williams, two brothers Hershel Sanders and Omar Sanders and three sisters Virgie Warren, Ruth Northcott, and Audie Mae Burkhead.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Big Springs United Methodist near Pinson with Bro. Jimmy Dyer and Bro. Harold Montgomery officiating along with remarks by Heath Williams, Hillary Dalton and Kaitlynn Lambert. Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford - Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until funeral time at the church.
