Services for Peggy Ann Prestage Thompson, age 73, of Collinwood will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Steve Pochop officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Chris Martin, Michael Parker, Dustin Parker, Blake Thompson, Michael Prestage, and Don Prestage.
A native of Florence, AL she was born January 9, 1939, the daughter of the late Othel and Lorene Vessell Prestage. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband William Robert (Rod) Thompson; and a son, William Robert (Rod) Thompson, Jr.
She died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 12 Days. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee Parker of Florence and her late husband Terry; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Johnny Prestage and wife Gynne of Escondido, CA and Bobby Prestage of New Braunfells, TX; brothers-in-law, Ralph Thompson and wife Joy of Florence, AL, Gene Thompson and wife Gladys of Temperence, MI; sisters-in-law; Florence Brewer and husband Joel of Florence, AL, Evelyn Thompson of Toledo, OH, and Edythe Prestage of Escondido, CA; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
