Peggy Sloan

November 25, 1939 — December 7, 2007

She was born in Decatur County and grew up in Madison County, the daughter of the late Fieldon and Georgia Lee Moore Bennett. She graduated South Side High School in 1958 and that same year was married to Carl Sloan. They made their home in South Jackson all their married life. She worked at Oakley Fashions for fifteen years and she and Mr. Sloan owned and operated Sloan’s Repair Shop in Jackson. She then worked as manager of the Cafeteria at Pope Elementary School retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Pleasant Springs United Methodist Church.



She is survived by her husband, Carl G. Sloan of Jackson; two sons, Mike Sloan and his wife Teresa of Medon and Tim Sloan and his wife Janice of Jackson; four grandchildren, Alicia and Matthew Sloan and Chris and Jennifer Blackwood; a brother, Ted Bennett of Medina; a sister, Joyce King of Clover Port, TN and an Aunt Jessie Tucker of Jackson.



She was preceded in death by a son in 1964.
