Peggy Jean Ramey

Peggy Jean Ramey departed this life on October 22, 2022, in Corinth, Mississippi, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She was born on December 1, 1937, the daughter of Sylvester and Lennie Deshazier Anderson.

She was married to the Jack Ramey, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2021.

Mrs. Ramey had worked several years for Brown Shoe Company and for Wal-Mart in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She had taught Sunday school for many years at Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

Peggy loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She loved attending church and attending Atlanta Brave ballgames.

Peggy is survived by her three children, Phillip Shelby and his wife Kim, Mike Shelby and his wife Anette, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Melissa Nichols and her husband David of Prattville, Alabama; five grandchildren, Justin Shelby, Emily Bobo, Brittney Shelby, Hannah McCall, and Wesley Nichols; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Anderson, Elbert Anderson, and Joe Anderson; and one sister, Faye Barnhill.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Will Anderson and one sister, Martha Fowler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Rest Nursing Home and the Savannah Church of Christ.
