Peggy Ann Shannon Ross Kennedy was born in Decatur County, Tennessee on December 17, 1939, the daughter of the late W.A. (Alf) and Arie Shannon. On July 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to Marvin Kennedy, who survives. Peggy departed this life on June 18, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 1 day.
In her lifetime, Peggy worked for H.I.S. Manufacturing in Saltillo, Tennessee, as a Cashier for Walmart in Savannah, Tennessee for 12 years, and as a babysitter for Sarah, Rachel, and Robert. She attended Lebanon Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Peggy is survived by her son, Tony Ross and wife Kathy of Iuka, Mississippi; daughter, Shannon LeAnn Hearn and husband Barry of Henderson, Tennessee; brother, Tommy Shannon of Dear Park, Texas; grandchildren, Niesha Carpenter, Tina Westbrook, Greg Ross, and Beth Plunk; and great grandchildren, Seth Walker, Noah Carpenter, Gavin Ross, Maycie Westbrook, Bryson Westbrook, Presley Ross, Owen Ross, Ariana Plunk, River Plunk, and Brooklyn Plunk.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddy Wayne Ross; sister, Alma Scott; and foster brother, Floyd Presley.
