Peggy "Marlene" Butler Wooten Gray was born January 20, 1935 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Euel Elmer and Beulah Jane Horton Butler. Mrs. Marlene departed this life on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 23 days. October 02, 1993 she was married to Delbert Gray and he preceded her in death February 24, 2018. She was a member of Shawnettee United Methodist Church and was retired from Angelica Manufacturing in Collinwood..
She is survived by a son, Junior Wooten and wife Jeri Ann of Collinwood, TN, daughters, Donita Ray and husband Orbie of Waynesboro, TN, Susan Pope and significant other, Joe Beckham of Collinwood, TN, stepdaughter, Carolyn Haggard of Collinwood, TN, grandchildren, Dustin Ray and wife Kellie, Derek Ray and wife Grace, Kyle Pope and wife Victoria, Brooke Blalock and husband Dustin, Keri Jones and husband Evan, Katie Crowder and husband Trae, and Kristen Edwards and husband Jamison, brothers, Larry Butler and wife Dianne and Travis Butler and wife Sarah both of Collinwood, TN, and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Juanita Kay Wooten, stepdaughter, Oleta Ary and stepson, James Gray and sister Marcia Ann Butler.
Services will be held Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Shawnettee United Methodist Church in Collinwood with Tim Ferguson and John Ives officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnettee Cemetery near Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Pallbearers are Dustin Ray, Derek Ray, Kyle Pope, Dustin Blalock, Jamison Edwards, and Evan Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Trae Crowder. Visitation will be Saturday,5:00-9:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood and Sunday from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at Shawnettee United Methodist Church.
