Pearl Tidwell Dean

Pearl Tidwell Dean of Florence, AL was born June 13, 1925 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Johnny Clyde and Molly Eaton Tidwell. She was united in marriage to Melvin Eugene Dean and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1993.

Mrs. Dean was a homemaker and of the protestant faith. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Glenwood Healthcare in Florence, Alabama at the age of 91 Years, 3 Months, 28 Days.

She is survived by sons, Steve Eugene Dean of Tuscumbia, AL, Billy Joe Dean of Florence, AL; a daughter, Kathy Curles of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Becky Hester, Kendall Dean, Chris Dean, Tanya Hayes, Charles D. Curles; 7 Great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Montgomery of Florence, AL; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by a brother, William Tidwell; sisters, Vanilla Dodd, Rhoda Reaves, Myrtle Reaves, Mae Hinton, Lucille Balentine.

Services will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Larry Burbank officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery, Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Chris Dean, Charles D. Curles, Kendall Dean, Blake Dean, Roger Balentine, Robert Jeffreys and Elijah Hester as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
