Paul Whittington was born December 26, 1914 in Reno, Arkansas the son of the late Logan and Nola Brady Whittington. He was united in marriage to Margaret Carter Whittington on February 21, 1940. Mrs. Whittington preceded him in death on October 27, 1995. Mr. Whittington was the former owner of City Lumber Company in Selmer, a past president of the Selmer Lions Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Whittington was a founding member of the Board of Directors for First National Bank of Selmer, and was a former member of the McNairy County Commission. Mr. Whittington departed this life on November 19, 2005 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 10 Months, 24 Days. He is survived by a son, Jimmy Whittington and wife Annette of Selmer, Tennessee; two grandsons: Brad Whittington of Vienna, Virginia and Kevin Whittington and wife Kellie of Jackson, Tennessee; and one great-grandson, Mason Aubrey Whittington of Jackson, Tennessee. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Whittington was also preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Dudgeon.
