Services for Paul R. Thrasher, Sr., age 78, Cypress Inn, TN are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, June 14, 2010 at Shackelford Funeral Chapel, Collinwood with Mike Hammonds officiating. Interment following in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Sunday 6:00-9:00 PM and Monday, 10:00 AM until service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood.
Pallbearers are John Dial, Brandon Thrasher, Jason Thrasher, David Gough, Jerry Thrasher, and Frank Moore.
A native of Wayne County, he was born February 14, 1932 to the late Rufus C. and Florence Arnett Thrasher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Bobby Thrasher and sister, Marpaline Jones.
Mr. Thrasher died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was a retired auto body shop technician and attended Collinwood First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Fay Daniel Thrasher of Cypress Inn, TN; a son, Paul Thrasher Jr. of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Connie Thrasher Gough of Madison, AL; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren;
brother, Donnie Thrasher of Florence, AL; two sisters, Margaret Dial of Collinwood, TN and Judy McNeese of Iron City, TN.
