Paul Glenn Staggs

Paul Glen Staggs of Waynesboro, TN departed this life on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Wayne Medical Hospital in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 8 Months, 5 Days. He was born September 15, 1923 the son of the late Hettie and Earlie Staggs. Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by two brothers Homer and Augdon and one sister Imogene.
On February 16, 1942 he was united in marriage to Odell Robbins who preceded her husband in death on November 3, 2000.
Mr. Staggs served honorably in the US Army during WW II and was a veteran of the battles of Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Staggs retired from Genesco after 38 years. He loved his horses; mules and beagles. He was one of the founders of the Waynesboro Bridle and Saddle Club. He continued to work and be a part of the club even after he no longer rode. Mr. Staggs was a member of the Beagle Club, American Legion, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
Mr. Staggs is survived by three daughters; Paulette Crowell and husband; Paul of Flatwoods, TN; Sandra Pate and husband Rusty of Collinwood, TN; Hettie Lee Richerson and husband Elmer of Lebanon, TN ; one son; Jimmy Staggs and wife; Robin of Waynesboro, TN; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; half brothres; Robert Staggs; Indianapolis, IN and Bobby Earl Staggs of Cincinnati, OH
Services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home ,Waynesboro , Tennessee, with Dr. Jonathan Richerson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens , Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers: Robbie Treadwell; Cainan Treadwell; Taylor Griggs; Bryan Montgomery; Greg Staggs and Keith Staggs.
