Paul B. Keller, age 93, of Bolivar, died Monday, January 17 at
Tenn. Veterans Home in Humboldt.
The husband of Frankie Shearon Keller, who survives, he was the
founder of Jackson & Keller Lumber Co. in addition to raising
cattle and selling real estate. Mr. Keller was born March 6, 1911 in
Toone, son of the late Palmo Franklin Keller and Jennie Elizabeth
Lowrey Keller and lived here all of his life. He served in the U.S.
Army during WWII with the Military Police and was the oldest
living veteran in Hardeman County. Mr. Keller served several
elected terms on the Hardeman County Highway Commision and
was on the City Zoning Board for 20 years. In the 1940's, he ran
the only taxi service in Bolivar. He was a member of the Bolivar
Rotary Club as well as Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Services were 3 pm Thursday, January 20 at Shackelford's Bolivar
chapel with Dr. Ernest E. James and David Cooper officiating.
Burial was in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, whom he married in March of 1940, survivors include one daughter and her husband, Paula K. and William A. Harris of Memphis; one sister, Lena Mae Robinson of Bolivar and two grandchildren, Trey Harris of Chattanooga and Paul Hudson Harris of Memphis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Crawford Keller.
