Mr. Howell passed from this life Thursday morning, September 15, 2016, at his home near Middleton.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, Paul was the son of the late Jesse Floyd and Fanny Elizabeth Goff Howell. On April 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Billie Ruth Bass. They were married 59 years before her death, June 8, 2015.
Mr. Howell had worked at Shelton's Grocery and Jervis Corporation before he was employed by Dover Elevator (now Thyssen-Krupp) as a custom cabin maker. He was a long-time member of the Porter's Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Howell was an avid musician all his life; enjoying singing and playing guitar. Other interests included raising cattle, restoring and repairing tractors and "babysitting" his daughter Donna's dog, "Toejoe".
He leaves two daughters, Judy Russell of Middleton and Donna (David) Baker, both of Middleton; six sisters, Christine Howell of Middleton, Clare (B. C.) Jones of Columbia, TN, Thelma Turner of Middleton, Linda Bynum of Nashville, Lucille Howell of Bolivar and Ann Gowdy of Selmer; one grandchild, Cassie (Chris) Pipkin; and two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Sara Pipkin.
In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister Mae Stamey and a brother Dean Howell.
