Paul Calvin Finney

Paul Calvin Finney, age 83 of Toone, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, September 2, 2008.Mr. Finney was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Finney on February 23, 1925. In 1952, he married the late Rose Taylor Finney, who preceded him in death July 18, 2008. He joined the United States Marines in 1942 and served in World War II during which he was wounded at Okinawa. He also served during the Korean conflict, retiring in 1963 as a Master Sergeant. He had lived in Hardeman County since 1976 and attended Toone Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Patrick Finney and his wife Charlotte of Toone; a brother, Carl Finney of Jackson, GA; two sisters, Loretta Browning of Jackson, GA and Carol of Georgia; three grandchildren, Alan, Jennifer and John and two great-grandchildren, Colin and Lili. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Henson, a son, Calvin Wade Finney, a brother, Mackie Finney and two sisters, Edith and Barbara.
