Mrs. Patrice Plunk Grantham of Bolivar departed this life at the age of 59 years, and two months Sunday evening, June 9, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Grantham was born in Selmer, Tennessee April 9, 1954 to the late Charles D. Plunk and Patty Jean Glisson Plunk. She graduated with the class of 1972 from Bolivar Central High School and was united in marriage to Don Grantham on May 26th of the same year. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education from Union University and taught at Bolivar Elementary School for a year. She also taught piano and organ and had many students throughout the years. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bolivar, where she had played piano and organ since she was 12 years old, and taught children in Sunday School. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and was, as her family stated, a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband of 41 years, survivors include three daughters, Heather Grantham Thomas and husband Damon of Bolivar, April Grantham Vales and husband Kevin of Bolivar and Britney Grantham Tranum and husband A. J. of Middleton; a sister, Dianna Lynn Smith and husband Vance of Bolivar; a brother, Charles Glisson Plunk and wife Cindy of Bolivar; and four grandchildren, Katelyn Elizabeth Thomas, Hannah Grace Thomas, Madison Lane Thomas and Cody Alan Vales.
