PATSY ‘PAT’ LEWELLYN
Henderson, TN: Patsy Irene Phillips Lewellyn age 87, passed away November 15, 2024, at Wellington Manor in Jackson.
She was born and raised in Wheeling, WVA, the daughter of the late Jesse Earl and Mary Launcie Tracy Phillips. She graduated High School and attended Jackson Vocational School to become a Certified Medical Assistant. She married Robert ‘Bob’ Lewellyn in 1952. They made their home in Wheeling, WVA They later moved to Warren, OH, where she worked for General Motors for fifteen years. They moved to Henderson in 1968, where Mr. Lewellyn was Superintendent for Grinnell Corporation and later was General Plant Manager. Mrs. Lewellyn worked as a certified medical assistant for Dr. D.C. King at the Henderson Clinic for twenty-two years. She then was Bob’s secretary at Specialty Products, a manufacturer of pipe hangers. The Lewellyn’s owned and operated the plant with their son-in-law, Tim Nash. She retired from Specialty Products in 2002. She taught adult Sunday School and sang in the choir at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Humboldt.
She loved spending time in Saltillo at her cabin on the TN River, and watching her grandsons play ball was a favorite pastime of hers.
She loved any type of arts and crafts. She loved watching game shows too! She enjoyed volunteering with the Chester County Election Commission for many years.
Mrs. Lewellyn is survived by her daughter, Pamela D. Nash and Husband Tim of Jackson; four grandchildren, Shawn (Misti) of Jackson, Nathan (Mary) of Jackson, Brandon South of Jackson and Abby South of Camden, TN; six great grandchildren, Colton & Hallie Nash of Jackson, TN, and Tacker, Tristan, Max, and Nora Grace Nash of Jackson, TN; special nieces, Debbie Pugh and Michelle Huzl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert “Bob” Lewellyn in 2007; her two daughters, Judith Lynn Lewellyn and Sandra Lewellyn South; three brothers, Joseph Phillips, Jim Phillips and Allen Phillips and three sisters, Roxie Pegg, Marie Butler and Mary Lou Waugh.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM service time on Wednesday.
