Oty Lee English
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 22, 1932 the son of the late Harley and Delia Umphrey English.
On June 28, 1957 he was united in marriage to the former Betty Landtroop, who survives.
Mr. English was retired from his job as a maintenance worker with General Electric in Selmer, Tennessee and attended New Harmony Baptist Church. He had lived in Michigan City, Indiana for approximately 20 years.
He departed this life on September 2, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 11 days.
Mr. English is survived by his wife, Betty English of Savannah, Tennessee;
5 sisters: Frankie Harrison of Savannah, Edith Walker of Clifton, Tennessee, Nell Polk of Savannah, Kate Hosea of Savannah and Rachel Wyatt of Scotts Hill, Tennessee and 2 brothers, Doty English of Athens, Alabama and L.H. English of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Orlando English.
