Otis Hinton
was born February 3, 1927 in Hardin County, Tennessee the son of the late Arthur Lee and Dollie Dave Smith Hinton.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Hazel Qualls on August 21, 1947. Mrs. Hinton preceded him in death on May 17,2007.
During his life, Mr. Hinton had worked as a cotton ginner for William Brothers Cotton Gin, Savannah Radiator, and construction as a carpenter. Mr. Hinton was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and a member of the Carpenters Union in Corinth, Mississippi. He enjoyed horses, peanut farming, making molasses, and most of all his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Hinton departed this life on April 25, 2008 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days.
He is survived by four daughters, Rose Harmon and husband Mack, Sandra Scott and husband Scotty, Debbie Brock and husband Freddie, TN, Janie Milender and husband Johnny all of Savannah, TN; two sons, Calvin Hinton and wife Beth, Mike Hinton and wife Joann of Savannah, TN; two sisters, Callie Qualls and Betty Battles of Savannah, TN; twelve grandchildren, Paul Phillips, Lance Phillips, Nick Brock, Misty Dicus, Candy Murphy, Mindi Grassman, John Milender, Stephen Hinton, Daniel Hinton, Laura Ann Hinton, Chrissy Crane, Wyman Alvey, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hinton was preceded in death by six sisters, Alene Adkisson, Jo Fielder, Hester Scott, Polly Higgins, Elise Clement; two brothers, William Arthur Hinton, Burnice Hinton, Billy Guy Hinton.
