Otis Edward Davis, 84, of Pocahontas, died Monday, October 16, 2006 at Pine Meadows Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
The husband of Julia Lewis Davis, who survives, he was an electrician and sign maker. Mr. Davis was born January 28, 1922, in Deckard, Tennessee, son of the late James Henry Davis and Pearl Lindsey Davis. He served in the U. S. Army for 5 years during WWII with the 630th Tank Destroyer Battalion, was a member of the Lion’s Club and a deacon at Better Hope Primitive Baptist Church at Leapwood.
Services were 2 pm Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Elder Clinton Barnett officiating. Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Selmer.
In addition to his wife, whom he married May 2, 1941, survivors include one daughter, Diane Davis Schulte of Pocahontas; three sons, James Davis of Pocahontas, Dennis Davis of Coral Spings, Florida and Glenn Davis of Shawnee, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
