Oscar Franklin Dixon was born July 23, 1933 in Chewalla, Tennessee the son of the late Oscar Cleveland and Wreene Katherine Butler Dixon. He was united in marriage to Peggy Vaughn on May 11, 1956.Mr. Dixon was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee, having worked for Western Mental Health in Bolivar and at Pickwick Landing State Park. He was also a member of the Tuscumbia Baptist Church, and had formerly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Dixon departed this life on May 20, 2006 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 9 Months, 27 Days. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Vaughn Dixon of Corinth, Mississippi; three daughters: Rhonda Pickens and husband Roger of Stantonville, Tennessee, Cynthia Jacquline King and husband Jerry of Hornsby, Tennessee and Tammy McCalister and husband Stanley of Selmer, Tennessee; a son, Timothy Franklin Dixon of Corinth, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Jeremy Todd Pickens, Jennifer Elaine Gray and husband Tony, Amanda Leigh Roland, Heather Diane Roland and Nathan Lee King; a great-granddaughter, Lorien Rane Gray; two sisters: Lottie Epps of Talequah, Oklahoma and Lula Ripple Moss of Corinth, Mississippi; and a brother, Carl Dixon and wife Faye of Duncan, Oklahoma.In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Shelaine Dixon and two brothers: Joseph Clesto Dixon and Celestial Dixon.
