OSA LEE TAYLOR

Henderson, TN: Osa Lee Smith Taylor age 87 passed away Tuesday morning, September 6, 2016 at her home in Henderson.

She was born August 30, 1929 in Chester County, the daughter of the late N. B. (Napoleon Bonaparte) and Vassie Davis Smith. In 1944 she married William Wesley ‘Willie’ Taylor. They made their home at Montezuma and Henderson all their married life. Mr. Taylor worked for Southwest Electric and Mrs. Taylor worked a few years at Salant & Salant and Chester Manufacturing. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Debra Morris and husband Larry of Henderson; a grandson, Jason Cooper and Sadie of Henderson, two brothers, Johnny Smith of Henderson and Jerry Smith of Milan and one sister, Shirley Talley of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Wesley ‘Willie’ Taylor in 2006; a son Dennis Wayne Taylor in Vietnam 1968, three brothers, Rayburn Smith, Vestern Smith, and Eugene Smith and three sisters, Maerene Blackstock, Sue Connor and Mildred Seratt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Mike Ulmer officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday.
