Ora Evelyn Young

Ora Evelyn Young was born in Savannah, Tennessee on September 8, 1919, the daughter of the late G. B. and Minirva Strickland Pickens.She was united in marriage to the Earl Young, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1986. Mrs. Young had been employed with Harwood Garment Company, and a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church and the Second Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a wonderful cook, beautiful seamstress, loved flowers and gardening. She was kind and generous.Mrs. Young departed this life on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, 19 days.Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Joyce Pleiss of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Freida Treece, Renee White, Mariah Salvino, and Rhonda Gray; 5 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Fisher and son, Mack Young.
